Carbon laminates VU university hospital

The installation of two new elevators at the university hospital VU Medisch Centrum in Amsterdam had considerable consequences for the existing construction. The installation greatly altered the tension in the floor, causing the floor to have too little reinforcement to provide sufficient support.

Ervas solved this problem with carbon laminates. Ervas first checked the floors on strength and determined the adhesion value. Subsequently, we calculated which type of laminates to install.

Before the carbon laminates could be applied, the concrete was pre-treated, the weak spots were removed, repaired and the surface was cleaned and made coarse. Subsequently, the special glue was applied by certified personnel.
